Additional Information

Led Waikato University's Research and Development initiative to design the university's first-ever Electric Formula SAE (EV FSAE) car. As team lead, I coordinated cross-functional development efforts while personally focusing on energy storage system design and implementation. My technical contributions centered on two parallel energy solutions: High-Voltage Battery Pack (2024 onwards): Designed and developed the foundational architecture for a next-generation battery system, establishing safety protocols, power management strategies, and integration pathways for the fully electric powertrain. Supercapacitor Battery Replacement (2023): Engineered an innovative lead-acid alternative using supercapacitors to improve power delivery, reduce weight, and enhance reliability for the interim competition vehicle. Under my leadership, the team successfully achieved critical milestones including establishing core system logic, integration frameworks, and implementing real-time data acquisition systems for live telemetry and performance analysis. This groundwork positioned future teams with a solid technical foundation and proven methodologies for continued EV development.
